FS2002 Douglas DC-3 Buffalo Airways Panel update
------------------------------------------------

Requires DC3BUFFA.ZIP to be installed first.

The feedback from my twin-pack Buffalo Airways DC-3 upload has been very positive and it does appear that some flightsimmers would actually like to go flying in the these aircraft rather than stick them at the back of their hangar. That's great, and thanks!

This update, therefore, corrects or improves a couple things people (including me) wanted to see:

1. There was a little bleedthrough on the original bitmap under the GPSmap295 which slipped through Quality Control, owing to a last minute graphics update which I failed to check properly. Now corrected, so no more daylight in the wrong places!

2. NAV/GPS switch settings are now clearer on the bitmap.

3. Importantly, I've now enabled your standby radios. Don't know how I let that slip by, sorry. Sometimes we freeware wallies get our working files mixed up a little ... it could be the Sam Adams ...

3. I've tidied up your navigational instruments a little. I've taken out the badly placed VOR2 gauge and replaced the ADF with an RMI with ADF/VOR2.

4. I've added a Radio Altimeter. Useful in Canada ...

5. I've replaced the altimeter with a standard gauge which makes it easier to set your altimeter manually for the prevailing barometric pressure.

6. The green AP on/off light has been removed as it was superfluous. I have moved the other indicator lights around a little but they all have labels if you have your 'cockpit tooltips' enabled.

7. Fixed the problem of some overhead switches disappearing in certain screen resolutions.

8. For the heck of it, I've added the local map/chart - lifted from the indispensable FSNavigator program, available at www.fsnavigator.com - as a pop-up window. Now you can find your way from Hay River to Yellowknife and back without leaving the cockpit. Recommended, for sure.

So this lot should give you a prettier, more workable modern DC-3 panel for your Buffalos.

INSTALLATION

You must have installed DC3BUFFA.ZIP first for this update to be of any use!

Then either:

Unzip DC3BUFF2.ZIP directly to your main FS2002 folder.

If you have made no changes to the original install, the updated panel bitmaps and CFG file will go to the folder 'Douglas DC-3 Buffalo Airways (2)/panel/' in your FS2002/AIRCRAFT folder. Allow overwriting if prompted.

Three extra gauges will go to FS2002/GAUGES.

The AIRCRAFT.CFG file will be overwritten (the only change is the RADIOS section).

The README files (original updated) and JPG screenies will end up in the aircrafts' folder.

Or:

Unzip to a temporary folder and move the respective folders to your FS2002 directory manually. This way you can ensure that no file is unwittingly overwritten. If you are concerned that the gauges in this update will overwrite your existing gauges, this is recommended.

Whichever way you do it, your update will get there somehow, I'm sure.
